My Top 10 Favourite Books

I feel like it’s been forever since I last posted, which was two weeks ago, and that’s normal! First of all, I want to thank everyone for helping me get to 100 followers! We’re currently at 141, unfortunately, I didn’t have enough time to write a post for that, but I probably will for 200 followers. So let’s get there quick! Anyway, in today’s post, I am listing my top 10 favourite books. As I have mentioned before, in long ago posts, I love reading and I do it a lot. So here are my top 10 favourite books:

Educated – It is a memoir written by Tara Westover about how she grew up and the struggles she went through. Her life story of self-discovery and determination is beautifully captured in the book.

The Breadwinner – The author of this book is Deborah Ellis. When I read this book, I couldn’t stop thinking about what a hard life it would be to be a girl under the harsh rule of the Taliban. The Breadwinner book is about an 11-year-old girl named Parvana, who is forbidden to go to school under the Taliban rule in Afghanistan in 2001. It gives an insight into the hard lives and sacrifices that girls in Afghanistan have had to make. Also, I’ve done a review on this book, you can check it out here.

Cougar Cove – “Cougar Cove,” is a fictional book written by Julie Lawson. The book is about 11 years old Sam, who went to visit her cousins in Vancouver Island and confronted someone she wasn’t expecting.

The Memory of Forgotten Things – It is a fictional book written by Kat Zhang. It is about a 12 year old girl named Sophia who has unusual memories of things that never happened. She found someone else who has the same thing and they both went to a place where they had a completely different life.

The Strangers – “The Strangers” is a book written by Margaret Peterson Haddix. It’s about a pair of three siblings, ages 8, 10, and 12, who find out that three kids who have a lot in common with them were kidnapped and their mom is in some sort of danger. I’ve also done a review of this book, you can that out here.

The War that Saved My Life – This book is written by Kimberly Brubaker Bradley. It’s about a 10 year old girl named Ada, whose mother wouldn’t let her out of a one-room apartment because she had a clubfoot. Her younger brother Jamie was being shipped out to get away from war. So, Ada decided to go with him. Soon after, they had a new home, but Ada’s mother came back for her and her little brother.

The Mighty Miss Malone – “The Mighty Miss Malone” is a fictional book written by Christopher Paul Curtis. It is about a girl named Deza (she’s from a black family and is black herself) whose dad left to find work for her and her family. In the meantime, Deza, her mom and her brother landed in camp and her brother was inspired by his voice to be a performer. They got him back and hoped to find her father before it was too late.

Mockingbird – “Mockingbird,” is a fictional book written by Kathryn Erskine. It’s about a girl with Asperger’s named Caitlin. She lost her brother in a shooting. Caitlin read the definition of closure and figured that’s what she needed.

Counting By 7s – “Counting By 7s,” is about a 12 year old named Willow, who is a genius. Her favourite number is 7 and she uses it for everything. Out of nowhere, Willow’s parents died in a tragic car accident and she stays with a friend until someone takes her in, but in the end, something that Willow did not expect happens.

Wings of Fire, The Lost Heir – This is a novel series written by Tui T. Sutherland. “The Lost Heir,” is the second book in the series and is my favourite too. It’s about Tsunami, one of the dragons that is part of the dragon prophecy and is also from the Seawing tribe. Tsunami was returning home to see meet her family which she had never met before. She discovers that she is the queen’s daughter and ends up as one of the queen’s prisoners.

I read most of these books pretty recently, but I really liked them. I recommend these books to anyone, no specific age. Once again, thank you everyone for helping me get to 100+ followers, really appreciated. What is your favourite book?

  2. I loved the list of books as they appear to be interesting reads. I think it is important that everyone reads books as to increase their knowledge of words, places and people even if they are fictional characters. I love reading and I love writing books and my blog.

  3. After looking at your favorite books, and reading a few of your blogs, I can tell you that we do not read the same stuff, and do not see “eye-to-eye” on other things, but I have decided to follow you so that I can get a different perspective on things. So if I I disagree from time to time, do not be surprised 🙂 By the way, my favorite reading list includes the likes of Clancy, Flynn, Dale Brown, Cussler, Follet and Higgins, to name a few.

  4. The alchemist made me a reader. Pablo Neruda’s poetry (Twenty love poems and a song of despair) made me a writer. So these two definitely are the most important books for me❤️
